At JP Spraying Limited, we recently completed a full refurbishment on a set of heavy-duty winches destined for use in a marine environment. These vital pieces of equipment arrived at our workshop with extensive rust, years of wear, and flaking paint.

The Challenge
Saltwater, humidity, and constant exposure to the elements can quickly corrode metal. Without the right marine-grade coating system, these winches would be at risk of premature failure, costing time and money in repairs or replacements.
Our Process
1️⃣ Customer Consultation – We discussed several marine coating specifications with the client, helping them choose a solution that balanced lifespan, environmental resistance, and cost-effectiveness.
2️⃣ Surface Preparation – The winches were abrasive blasted back to bare metal to remove rust, old paint, and contaminants, creating the perfect base for coating adhesion.
3️⃣ Marine-Grade Coating Application – We applied a high-build epoxy primer for corrosion resistance, followed by a two-pack polyurethane topcoat in the client’s chosen blue. This coating system is designed to handle salt spray, UV exposure, and heavy-duty operational use.

The Result
The transformation speaks for itself — from rusted and worn to professional, long-lasting, and sea-ready. This new protective coating will significantly extend the operational life of the winches while improving their appearance.
If your marine equipment or industrial machinery needs expert refurbishment, JP Spraying Limited can provide coating systems that stand up to the harshest environments.
